How to uninstall iExplorer

Introduction

If you no longer need iExplorer, you can remove it quickly on either Mac or Windows.

This guide covers standard uninstall steps and, for Mac users, optional removal of OSXFUSE.

What you will need

  • iExplorer
  • An iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  • USB cable to connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  • A Mac or PC with iTunes or the Apple Music app installed

Step-by-step instructions

To uninstall iExplorer on Mac, open Applications, locate iExplorer, and drag it to the Trash.

Uninstalling OSXFUSE (Optional)

OSXFUSE may be installed if you used iExplorer mount features.

Open System Preferences and click the FUSE for macOS icon.

Click Remove OSXFUSE.

Removal is complete.

To uninstall iExplorer on Windows, open Start and run Uninstall iExplorer, or open Control PanelUninstall a Program, then select iExplorer.

Some systems may also have iTunes and QuickTime installed as prerequisites. If you want to remove those too, follow Apple’s instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923.
